I am Paula Gabb, I have been painting most of my life and I am full time artist. My preferred medium is oils on canvas but I also enjoy the challenges of painting with other materials such as watercolours and acrylics.

I am inspired by the beauty of the British countryside and the architecture towns & cities.

Painting is my passion I love the rich layered texture that lends a three dimensional aspects to the landscape. cityscapes and urban environmentsand reflecting changes in lighting and tone.

Painting has allowed me to express myself in ways that would otherwise not have been possible due to suffering from Dyslexic /Verbal Dyspraxia.

I am delighted that I have completed a number of private commissions in oils and watercolour.

Hi my name is Karen Cross and I am a Photographer…  when I say that, it still amazes me that I can confidently say it and know I have a job I love,  an unusual place to be with so many friends not really enjoying their job.

I studied Vocational Art and design just over 20 years ago… ok just over 25 years ago specialising in fashion design and Photography, with no computers in sight, rolls of film and a dark room as our ‘editing suite’ I think it’s fair to say I am ‘old school’ when it comes to photography… but clearly not OLD…

my photography is a reflection of my interests and capturing a view of something others may have missed or dismissed.

I am Emma Sibbing a Midlands based artist working in various mediums, creating colourful expressive works

Hi I am Jane Spence, my work is informed by my origins in theatre design, my years living in South East Asia and my love of words and storytelling. My creatures are characters and I hope that my images invite the viewer in, welcoming them to imagine their own tales.

The artist that inspires me is always the one I look at today. However, there are some constants in my life and they are Picasso, Hockney and Matisse, all masters of line, which I love, and wonderful draftsmen as well as genius innovators.

Carolina was first interested in art at school and studied life drawing and portraits as an additional A level. She was initially inspired by artists such as Lucian Freud who was known as one of the foremost 20th- century portraitists at that time

Although her compositions are heavily influenced by her surroundings, the climate and seasons with the ever changing light and colour, her paintings are ultimately derived from her imagination. It has been commented that there is an element of surrealism in her work. She uses acrylics and loves working with vivid and bold colours. Techniques include painting with the palatte knife  and “flicking”.  More recently she has started to use multimedia including resin and glitter to add another dimension to her pieces.

Hello, I’m Alison Jackson and I started Honey Pot Creations over 3 years ago now. It has changed several times, but I now concentrate on the things I really love, delicate embroidery work and cloth dolls, quite often combining the two.
Award winning Bees Knees Art Dolls are my creative delight, and I consider myself a professional textile artist. Self-taught from an early age and gaining a City and Guilds in Textile and Embroidery, I lovingly create all my dolls to be unique and individual. Each one of a kind doll comes with a certificate of authenticity and is numbered. Also, I enjoy making embroideries that are delicate and individual too, sometimes in frames and sometimes in pendants. For more information please check my website: www.honey-pot-creations.co.uk

Maria Smith I find people fascinating, I create paintings, drawings and mixed media artworks of people & animals. By studying for each portrait and pushing the evocative power of the work a little further, I consider making art a craft which is executed using a medium which should always refer to the subject.

The energy of a person and their emotional and spiritual vibrations are always important. Portraiture is a fascinating study Whilst most of my work is portraiture I do enjoy occasional artwork of landscapes & still life. I use oils, acrylics, water colour & pencils for my artwork. Oil painting being more predominant. Maria Smith currently lives and works in Henley In Arden.

Hi I’m Andy Hayward a sculptor and painter.

Most of my subject matter is influenced by the natural world, be it flora or fauna. I have a great lifelong love of dogs and I like nothing more than to capture them on canvas and sometimes in sculpture. I try to bring out the real character of each individual dog in my work.

Every year I spend some time in Cornwall an area I find very inspirational for my art. I love to paint coastal scenes in that area especially the small hidden coves which have their own particular character and magic.

I sculpt mainly in stone and I am a member of the Shapeshifters Sculpture Group. This group is dedicated to the development of all forms of sculpture. They have a permanent exhibition at Winterbourne House and Gardens in Birmingham and also exhibit at other venues from time to time.

I have exhibited my work around the Midlands and have exhibited in Friends and Open Exhibitions at The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA).

Hello I am Julie Robertson I have been making Art since I was 5yrs old. I may or may not be related to Toulouse-Lautrec - my aunt assures me there is a connection. I am grateful every day that I not only have the training to produce Art, but that I am supported in order to do so, and that outside of my daily responsibilities of family, dog and helping others, that I have the luxury of expressing myself in the way that makes sense to me, and have the opportunity from time to time to share thoughts and ideas with others.

My work is about and has been inspired by my life journey. Presentation, content, processes and method have been dictated by the need to communicate this epic story.

Unexpected interruptions and random interconnections, meetings, conversations and looking, all became part of the fabric of my work and finally on MA all my ideas fused into four final expressions. My 'planes of imminence'. - A banner, an installation, a sculpture and some writing.

These new works are a starting point. My journey through study and practice as an artist, whilst never finished, feels as if it has certainly reached a point that is significant, and worth pausing to reflect.

I currently work from my studio in Solihull - bringing Contemporary Art to the suburban setting. I admire so many artists, particularly Andy Goldsworthy, Tania Bruguera and Grayson Perry from the current era, and historically, Brancusi, Leonardo da Vinci, Artemisia Gentileschi and Sandro Botticelli to mention only a few.

On MA I was able to research not only the Art object but other forms of Art, such as performance and New media, which may or may not enter the portfolio. Certainly photography has always been part of my output as has 2D work.

3D was a discovery of my BA years and will always be part of my practice, whether as relief, or installation or purely sculptural output.

Hi I am Maggie Leaver My work divides into two main areas: paintings inspired by the beauty of colour and natural forms and the human story.

I use contemporary painting approaches and experimental methods in watercolour, oils and other media.

All artwork is developed to capture the essence and express and evoke emotions through expressive practices.

My studio and home is in Birmingham. I have been developing my practice locally now for several years.

My first solo exhibition last year at Winterbourne House and Gardens Gallery was a great success and a number of my paintings have been selected for RBSA (Royal Birmingham Society of Artists) exhibitions.

I recently completed a commission and am very happy to discuss taking on future work.
